Ono Day Special Millinery Display. Never was there such an enchanting display of millinery as that on view in Miss Bringezu’a Showrooms (entrance next J. Williams, jeweller). When 1 called in yesterday afternoon, preparations were almost completed for a special display of black hats, for today. All around were black hats, many of them in the new shapes in chip, cellophane and pineapple straw—all trimmed in different ways—and all so extremely smart. Among those showing I noticed a smart bowler in a new shape. It was composed of chip and cellophane straw, with a cunninglycurlcd whie coque feather, which is very new—quite the latest. Another black chip and cellophane with •medium drooping brim, from under which a lovely osjrich plume curled in a bewitching way to touch the chin. Black quills trimmed a Robin Hood hat in the same combined straw. Also in the same straw was another smart hat, it’s chief feature being the white “drenched” feather under the brim. Long ostrich plumes, clusters, pompoms, tassels in. feather trimmings, quills, cunning feather designs are all shown in the splendid collection, and it is hard to realise that so many individual styles could be shown in the one colour hat. A large fitting hat has touches of pretty pink, while a black and silver is trimmed with black patent, and has a smart bandeau. A black panamalaque tricorne with black and white patent leather, has a long tassel of feather trimming, and a bowler in black sisol is adorned with black and white cellophane plait. Pink velvet and pink flowers on a bandeau form another pretty model. Among others there is a smart little tricorne toque in chip and ccllaphane straw, with large white clipped ostrich feather. Side by side with these are smart sailor shapes, small toques and berettas in all the latest straws and with all the little individual touches that go to make a smart model. There’s also a line of coarse straws at 14s Gd and 15s 6d. Some have wide brims others medium, and all will find favour.
