LOOK AFTER YOUR BRUSHES
If brushes arc kept clean and sweet they will last double the time. Scrub- 1 bing brushes of all sorts should be made to hang up. Two brushes used on alternate days, and washed daily in hot soda water, will outlast four that never have a chance to dry. Clothes brushes need frequent washing if they are to remove dust and dirt with any degree of efficiency. A hot lather and a cold salt rinse w r ill keep. the bristles stiff, while an occasional dip! in a weak solution of household am-, monia is all to the good. Hair brushes need far more attention' than they usually receive. Many hair specialists advocate the daily washing; of the brush, and the not so frequent! washing of the hair. If the hair brushes are kept in this condition, the hair need only be washe-d everv two or three months, and will b n infi’i’tolv hnt.tp-> for this treatment. Tho ideal dn> b bath is in lukewarm, soapy water, with two or three rinsings in cold water J with slow drying in a current of air,| and well away from any artificial heat.l as it tends to soften the bristles.
