BOARD’S DECISION AWAITED [ Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 13. Wishing to save expense which may prove unnecessary the Public Works Department is not constructing bridges over the Conway and Leader Rivers on the South Island Alain Trunk line, ami is pi’ ( > eding only slowly with other construction work. The Department is awaiting the decision of the Railway Board as to whether, or not, the line is to be completed. The Board is at present making its second inspection of the line.
