ENGLISH TO BE TAUGHT MEISSEN, July 29. ' October 1 will see the opening in this famous porcelain city of the Schloss Siebeneichen College with courses conducted on college level with the purpose of making a constructive effort in behalf of international under standing. Courses will be given in English un til the student is able to follow in German, and it. is believed that the change can be made within four months at most. Monica von Miltitz is president of the college. The members of the faculty will be Germans, with the exception of one English and one Anieri can member. They are for the most part from the anthroposophie “Goethcanum” of Dornaeh. The Rev. Ed ward Moncrieff Bruce, chaplain of the American Church of St. John, Dresden, is a member of the board of trustees An American professor, who will also be one of the American members of the board of trustees, will act as official examiner. Instruction will be given in small groups. The curriculum for tho two years includes grammar (Univer sity of Wisconsin manual), philosophy, psychology, sociology, cultural history of art, natural sciences, recitation •hi ry th my. music and graphic geometry among other subjects. The students wil’ live in the Siebeneichen Palace as mem hers of Presidon* von Miltitz’s family, will cultivate social relations with othe» German families and assist in entertaining the guests of the house. Excursions to the nearby Dresden and remoter noints in Germany will bo included in the course, and opportunity will be given for active teaching at the end of the second year of the course.
