PUBLIC NOTICES. WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER RAISING LOAN. IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of The Wanganui City Council duly convened and held at the Council Chambers, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, on the twenty-first day of July, 1931, the following Resolution (intended to operate as a Special Order) was passed; WHEREAS The Gonville Town Board in the year 1910 for the purpose of General Improvements, Drainage and Water Extension -in The Gonville Town District, acquiring land for streets and recreation grounds, providing Public Baths and Public Halls and a Fire Brigade Station and Street Improvements did raise a Special Loan of £lO,OOO AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan of £lO,OOO is repayable on the eighth day of September 1931 AND WHEREAS the sum of £1,665 is available as Sinking Fund for or towards paying the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sum of £8,335 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £lO,OOO AND WHEREAS The Gonville Town Board, the said Special Loan of £lO,OOO being found insufficient for the purposes for which tne same was raised, in the year 1911 Did Raise pursuant to the powers in that behalf by law conferred and it enabling, a further Special Loan of £l.OOO (being one tenth of the said Special Loan of £10,000) for the completion of the purposes for which the said Special Loan of £lO,OOO was raised AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan of £l,OOO is repayable on the eighth day of September J 931 AND WHEREAS the sum of £165 is available as Sinking Fund for or towards paying the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sum of £835 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £l,OOO AND WHEREAS The Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway Board in the year 1911, for the purpose of the construction and equipment of a Tramway to serve The Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway District starting ! from the terminus of the Wanganui I Borough Tramways Did Raise a Special Loan of £35,000 AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan of £35,000 is repayable on the | second day ot Deceinbe: 1931 AND WHEREAS the sum of £lO,- ' 670 is available as Sinking Fund for or towards paying the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sum of £24,330 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £35,000 AND WHEREAS The Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway Board, the said Special Loan of £35,000 being found insufficient for the purposes for which it was raised, in the year 1912 Did Raise pursuant to the powers in that behalf by law conferred and it enabling, a further Special Loan of £3,500 (being one tenth of the said Special Loan of £35,000) for the completion of the purposes for which the said Special Loan of £35,000 was raised AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan of £3,500 is repayable on the second day of December 1931 AND WHEREAS the sum of £1,025 is available as Sinking Fund for or towards paying the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sum of £2,475 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £3,500. AND WHEREAS The Gonville and Castlec iff Tramway Board, in the year 1912, for the purpose of the construction and equipment of a Tramway to serve The Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway District, starting from the terminus of the Wanganui Borough Tramways Did Raise a Special Loan of £3,500 AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan is repayable on the second day of December 1931 AND WHEREAS the sum of £1,025 is available as Sinking Fund for or towards payment of the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sum of £2.475 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £3,500 AND WHEREAS The Wanganui , Borough Council in the year 1922, for the purpose of the erection, construction and finishing of a Power House, Car Barn and all or any ; other necessary or convenient build- ■ ings or building, sheds or shed, in connection with the Tramway system of the Borough, the constructing, making and supplying of machinery, plant, apparatus and appliances for generating power in connection with the said Tramway and the working thereof and the supply of electricity to private consumers, the making, procuring, furnishing and supply of Car Barn, equipment and appliances, the constructing, making and supplying of Tramcars, Trailer-ears and all other buildings, . machinery, plant, apparatus and things necessary, convenient or expedient for all or any of the purposes aforesaid and ali things incidental thereto or used in connection therewith Did Raise a Special Loan of i £50,000 AND WHEREAS the said Special Loan of £50,000 is repayable on the first day of March 1932 AND" WHEREAS the sum of £33,SSO is available as Sinking Fund for or towards paying off the said Special Loan at its maturity and it is therefore necessary to raise the balance being the sura of £16,120 for the purpose of paying off the said Special Loan of £50,009 AND WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the twenty fifth day of March 1924 and published in I’he New Zealand Gazette of the twentyseventh day of March 1924, Number 17, at page 734, the districts of the Borough of Wanganui and The Gonville Town Board and The Castlecliff Town Board which districts form one continuous area, were pro-
