The New South Wales public servants’ salaries were paid to-day, five days late. The new pay envelopes will be appreciably lighter, because the recent reductions will then become effective. SALARIES AND WAGES LABOUR'S BIG REDUCTIONS MELBOURNE, Aug. 11. The schedule embodying reductions in Public Service salaries and wag'-s, l.eing introduced with the Emergency Retrenchment Bill in the Victorian Assembly to-day by the Hogan Labour Ministry, provides the following reductions: Six per cent, on salaries up tn £100; 11* per cent between £lOO and £225- 1-11 per cent between £225 and £200; 15* per cent between £261 and £.'112; and 25 per cent on salaries above £312.
