ABANDONED INFANT
CHARGE AGAINST WOMAN. [ Per Press Association. ) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 19. Violetc Beatrice IMoore, aged 29, domestic, a married woman living apart from her husband, pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial on a charge of unlawfully abandoning an infant which was found alive in an empty house ten days ago. The police said that it was hoped that the child would 1 live. The police said that accused made n statement that the baby was born in the house. She intended to go back later 1 and get it, but became frightened and did not.
