CAR OVERTURNED
TWO BOXERS INJURED. [Per Press Association.! PAHIATUA, Aug. 10. A car overturned at Hamua yesterday afternoon when amateur boxers were returning from Wellington. The injured are Joe Franklin, featherweight champion, Poverty Bay, left log broken, and Fred Bennie, lightweight champion, Hawke’s Bay, severe cut on knee. Both were taken to hospital. The other occupants, who escaped injury, were Mrs ,T. R. Gregory. Wh.itatutu, Gisborne (the latter being the owner of the car), Mrs J. Heeney, Gisborne, and Messrs J. Heeney, Roy Gregory, and Franklin. The driver was forced on to the shingle in endeavour ing to avoid collision with another car when the vehicle overturned.
