NO MONEY FOR RATES
BUT WENT TO RACES [ Per Press Association. ] NAPIER, Aug. 10. The chairman of the County Council stated to-day that ho knew some defaulting ratepayers who had gone to the Grand National. He thought it most dishonest. He knew he would g--t into trouble for his utterance, bur, he, felt that he'' had to protect those who had paid. It was decided to sue for rates outstanding.
