PAPER HAT PARTY
i There was a very happy party held in St. Peter’s School, Gonville, last Thursday evening, when about 100 children were entertained at a “paper hat” party given in aid of the school funds. The gay and pretty hats of the small guests made a charming scene. Dancing and games were the pastimes indulged in and a Scotch dance was given by the pupils of St. Peter’s School. Aliss Greaves played the dance music and Air Thurlow acted as ALC. The prize for the girl’s prettiest hat was won by Betty Cole, whose hat represented a rose, while. Patty Howell won the prize for the most original with a model of a gramophone. A candlestick hat, worn by John Henson was judged the most original hat for boys and the best boy’s went to Alaster Barry, wearing a jockey’s cap. The party, which commenced at 7 o’clock and ended at 9 p.m., was very successful and much enjoyed by the tiny tots.
