WESTERN AMERICAN LOSSES REQUEST FOR FEDERAL AID [By Telegraph—Prose Association —Copyright] Received June 26, 5.5 p.m. NEW YORK, June 25. A message from Williston, North Dakota, states that while reports ol varying severity concerning a “scorching heat wave” have been received central and western United States re presentatives and several hundred far mors informed tho Department of Agriculture that tho droughts had become so serious in North Dakota and Montana that Federal aid was necessary. Farmers reported that their pastures wore burned brown and that they had been forced to ship out cattle and even milch cows, and must import food for the remaining live stock.
