A NEW PROFESSION
The newest professiuu is that of aerial chauffeur (says a London correspondent). It has conic into being as a result of the rise in popularity of the speedy small plane known as the “saloon car of the air.” The late Captain Lowenstein is believed to bo the lirst person to employ aerial chauffeurs when he chartered a fleet of air lines from Imperial Airways to fly his staff and friends to business conferences abroad. To-day many business men, including the I'rince of Wales, own small saloon planes, and although they may be pilots themselves, employ a skilled pilot, generally an ex-R.A.F. officer, to look after and fly their planes. Many women, too. like the Duchess of Bodford, own their own aeroplanes and employ aerial chauffeurs. There arc now in Britain several hundreds ot privately-owned aeroplanes, ranging from the small single-seatei sports plane to the big super marine luxury air yacht, owned by Captail Guinness.
