COMET RE-DISCOVERED
ADVICE TO NEW ZEALAND FAVOURABLE FOR OBSERVATION. I Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, June 24. The New Zealand Astronomical Society has received a cable from the International Astronomical Union of Copenhagen announcing the re-discov-ery of Enckes comet. This is a short period comet of about 3i years. On this occasion it was discovered about June 22, when it was relatively bright, being in the 9th magnitude. Its right ascension at the time of its discovery on .lune 22 was 7 hours 35 minutes north, declination 8 degrees 22 minutes. The comet is travelling south and cast, and is near the star i’rocyon. Ou June 22 it was about 2 degrees north of that star. The comet is now getting into a good position for observation in the southern hemisphere.
