INSTANT DEATH

MAN UNDER CABLE CAR (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 23. Standing near a down-running car on the Kelburn cable tramway, after nine o’clock this evening, Richard Cornish, aged 47, second engineer, suddenly stepped or fell in front of the vehicle. The car was travelling at a fast speed and was unable to be pulled up for some distance. Cornish was considerably mutilated anr death was instantaneous.
