BOYS’ DEPARTMENT. (Contributed.) Although positions on the games ladder remain unchanged at the present moment, we expect big changes this week on the primary boys’ club night. Quite a number of the boys have been in during the day, after school and during the lunch hour, practising bard. Those at the top of the ladder had better look to their laurels this week. We had a good muster of boys at the pound night last week. It was decided that, the boys divide into three clubs and by popular vote among the boys. Norm Mara, Corrie West and Dun. Flanagan were elected as captains of the clubs. Club names were adopted as follows: Norm. Mara’s club, Red Eagles; Corrie West's club, Black Knights; and Dan. Flanagan’s club, Rovers. An honours banner has been donated for competition so there is sure to be keen rivalry in this three-cornered contest. On each club night, competitions will be held and points awarded to the winners. These points will count for the team to which the individual belongs. Physical Department. A special meeting of the ladies ' class is called for Wednesday at 7 p.m. to discuss matters regarding the coming inter-Bible Class basketball tournament. New members are still enrolling in the various classes. Don’t, forget that this is membership month. 33 new members have been introduced so far but to make up our quota we want 27 more before the end of the month. Now what about; it ? Have you brought that friend along and joined him up with one of our many activities? Scouts. At lust wo arc to have a tip-top Scoutmaster. At the last meeting of the Board of Directors advice was received from the Wanganui Scouts’ Association that Scoutmaster Head would be. willing to take over our troop. That was the best news we have heard for a long time. Many eulogistic remarks were made concerning Scoutmaster Head and his capabilities as a leader and organiser. We are confident; that the troop will flourish as of old under his leadership. Meccano Club. The meeting of this club held last Saturday night was attended by a pro- ’ mising number o*l members. The evening was spent; in finally adjusting and demonstrating the show models, all of which are good examples of meccano engineering. Arrangements for the display at the Winter Show are now well in hand and the committee is confident that this effort to increase the membership of the club will meet with the success it deserves. All present members arc urged to toll boys who are in forested in meccano to he sure to see i | the Hub's exhibit al the show.
