“LAUGH THAT OFF”
LAST NIGHT’S PERFORMANCE. : MAY CONTINUE NEXT WEEK. i There was a bettor attendance al last night’s performance of “Laugh That Off” at the Opera House by Wanganui amateurs. The play went with the swing of the night before, and the audience was very appreciative of the many hilarious situations. With the assurance of the first night’s performance behind the theme, the principals went forward to .further success. As “Remorse” Mr Robert Howell gave an evei better display than on the night before. He is the Cockney vaudeville actor and is on the stage for the greater part of the time. He starts and finishes the play. Miss Evelyn Wright carried off the part of the out-of-work motion picture actress well, while the others in the cast, Mrs Darbyshire, Miss L. Swan and Messrs J. Pawson, H. Hean and P. Latham each acquitted themselves with credit. The producing of the comedy is a credit to Mr Latham, who has worked hard, with the others, for its success. At the close of the performance the producer, Mr Paul Latham, spoke from the stage, thanking all those who had helped in the production and staging i of the comedy, especially the orchestra. He said that an announcement would be made later as to the performance of the comedy next week.
