EGMONT WANGANUI HUNT. THE AIOUAIAIIAKI MEET. Heavy ground was a handicap, but no hindrance to followers at the Eg mont-Wanganui Hunt. Club's weekly hunt, which was held nt Mpumahaki last Saturday. Although the (pace was slow in the earlier part of the afternoon it was not long before the pack led the field some long and exciting chases. One or two of tho runs were tho best that members had experienced for many days. A great deal of country was covered, the pack going strongly. Scents were lying well, enabling the hounds to pick up quickly. Fence's were well trimmed, making jumping an exhilarating sport. Although many hares were put. up. only one kill was made, but this keeps the club’s average well up. There has not been a meet ®o far this season at which a kill has not been made. At the close of the afternoon, the private cars, where afternoon tea wu*dispensed, wore well partonised. Doctor Simmons, Master, on behalf of the club, thanked Messrs Brower.
