NEW SOUTH WALES ABOLITION APPEAL TO PRIVY COUNCIL Received June 21, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, June 20. Leave to appeal in the case of the Attorney-General of New South Wales v. A. K. Trethowan and another, has been granted by the Privy Council. I,eave is given to appeal from the judgment of the High Court of Australia which, like the Supreme Court of New South Wales, decided that the Legislative Council could not be abolished fevithout a referendum and a majority of electors* favouring such abolition.
