OHAKUNE

WEDDING SKINNER—ANTHONY On Tuesday afternoon a pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride’s parents, when the third daughter of Mr and Mrs C. P. Skinner, Rangataua, was married to Eric Frederick Anthony, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Anthony, of Havelock. Rev. H. Nightingale was the officiating minister and there were about thirty guests. The bride, who was given away oy he. father, wore an ivorp crepe de chine dress trimmed with silver lace and fastened at the side with a spray of orange blossom. Her veil of tulle wa caught at the head with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of arum lilies, sweet peas and maiden-hair fern. She was attended by her sister, Mrs T. Bennett, as maid of honour, who wore a pretty gown of wine coloured crepe de chine relieved with fawn, and carried a posy of carnations. Little Raymond Bennett and Norma Anthony were train-bearers.

Mrs Anthony, the bridegroom's mother, wore chocolate crepe de chene, and carried a bouquet to tone. Mrs Skinner, the bride's mother, received the guests wearing black satin, relieved with pink. At the conclusion of the ceremony a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honoured and good wishes extended to the happy couple. A large number of useful and ornamental presents testified to the popularity of the young people. The newly-married couple left to spend a honeymoon at Rotorua, before taking up their residence at Otorohanga. The bride’s travelling dress was of saxe blue repp, black coat and hat to tone and she wore a fox fur set.
