General situation.—A cyclone is still centred near Cape Maria \ an Dieman and has become deep and fairl yintense. Au anti-eyclo remains over south-eastern Australia. Forecast. — Winds: South-east, to southerly, strung to gale force north of Westport and Kaikoura, elsewhere moderate to strong. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough to heavy north of Farewell Spit and Kaikorua, elsecast to southerly winds and rough seas in the Eastern Tasman, where moderate to rather rough. Eastern Tafeman Sea: Strong southWeather: Fine on the West Coast of the South Island and mainly fair, but with scattered coastal showers from Canterbury southwards! cl ♦ where dull and squally with rain and further heavy falls in the North Island. Temperatures cold with snow on the high levels of the North Island.
