WINDOW-CLEANER’S ORDEAL
A window-cleaner, Arthur Robert, aged 26, of Bermondsey, had a grim ordeal recently, says a London newspaper, when he found himself standing on the narrow ledge of a fourth floor windov and unable to climb back. BeI' low him was a sheer drop of 80ft. For 20 minutes he held on to the window and when rescued by firemen he was on the verge of collapse. The man’s plight was discovered by the manageress of the firm which occupies the floor, and a member of the . firir. tied Robert ’s arms to the window frame pending the arrival of the firemen.
