LIBRARY COMMITTEE , Th© ordinary monthly meeting of th© Huntervillo Library Committee was held on Monday ni ht, Mr W. G. Cunningham presiding. Also present, Messrs L. J. Thompson, G. Stratford, W. A. Bowick (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mrs C. F. Bowick. Accounts amounting to £l3 7s 9d were passed for payment. Tho secretary reported that new books to the value of £4 had been purchased. He suggested that books be obtained on approval and a committee bo appointed to go ‘hrough them. On the motion of Messrs Thompson and Stratford the suggestion was approved. Tho secretary reported that Airs C. F. Bowick was unable to continue as assistant librarian but would carry on for a month or until someone else was appointed. RAINFALL May, 1930—2.16in5.; total to date 10.50 ins. View schools visited Huntervillo on Monday and defeated th© local girls by 3 points to 2 after an even game. FOOTBALL TO-DAY’S MATCHES Junior Old Boys v. Athletic, at Marton (B. I). Ashcroft). Bulls v. Ohingaiti, at Bulls (D. Westwood). Halcombe v. Huntervillo, at Huntervillo (T. Thompson). Huntervillo team: R. Baker, P. Melville, W. Cook, Down, I. Cameron, M. Follas, S. Powell, R. School Match On Monday afternoon Upper Tutaenui and Mt. View combined school team defeated tho local school team on the Huntervillo Domain by 8 j ints to 6. The visitors, with down-hiT run, had the best of the play in the first half, Ken Coles scoring twice and Coleman converting one. In the second spell with tho local boys on the down grade the visitors were on the defensive and Huntervillo put on six points. Tho first try was tho result of. good work by Holford, Sutton and Simons tho last-named scoring. He failed to convert. Simons attempted to increase tho home team’s score from a penalty but tho leather struck tho upright. Huntervillo secured their second try when Wills kicked high and R. Scott following up scored well oi'. Air R. D. Powell refereed. HUNTERVILLE FOOTBALL CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING A meeting of the committee of the Hunterville Football Club was held on Monday night, Air Lindsay Bull presiding. Also present: Messrs W. Hayward (sec), R. K. Simpson, G. F. Shanley, A. W. Porter, W. Cook, M. Ross, R. Guthrie, S. S. Powell, E. G. Simons, W. E. Thomson. A letter was received from the Rugby Union notifying that L. Mailman had been reinstated to Huntervillo juniors. The Rugby Union notified that the Ohingaiti-Hunterville match had been awarded to Hunterville.

Accounts totalling £2 16s Id were passed for payment. A sum of 15s 6d of this was refunded on third grade players’ travelling expenses. Mr Bull reported that the Union had decided to play the TaihapeRangitikei annual match at Alarton. This match had previously been played at Hunterville —the only representative game—and Air Simpson had fought strongly to have 1’ match in Hunterville* He did all he possibly could but the vote was against him. “The local supporters are entitled to a rep. game,” ho added. “It is they that keep the game going and the Union taking the match from us is unfair. Unfortunately, khere are too many votes in Marton.”
