DUNEDIN ASSAULT CASE
WILSON CLEARS PARTNER, [ Per Press Association.] DUNEUIN, Juno 15. By frankly stating that Rupert .Saunders could have had nothing to do with the assault on Airs Jane Rossiter Thomas William Wilson, in the Police Court, cleared his partner of that charge in the sensational attempt at robbery at Rossiter’s shop on May 11. In hrs original statement Wilson declared that it was Saunders who knocked her out. This morning both Wilson and Saunders pleaded guilty to assaulting Walter Gabriel Rossiter with intent to rob, while \\ ilson also pleaded guilty to a second charge of doing grievous bodily harm to Jane Rossiter. This charge against Saunders was withdrawn. Both men were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
