ROUBAIX RIOTS
COMMUNISTS TAKE ACTION CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE [By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright] PARIS, June 14. A message from Roubaix states that there was a recrudescence of rioting when 300 Communists, whom the ’police prevented from demonstrating, rc-asscmblcd in another part oi the city where they smashed street amps and looted shop windows of their contents. They barricaded the streets and stoned the firemen attempting to destroy the barricades. Later tho Communists wrecked showrooms and dragged cars into the streets where they were set on fire. Cavalry arriving to disperse tho mob received a shower of missiles, which injured three. The rioting continued until dawn. Forty arrests have been made. Tho mob finally numbered 1000. The police chief called on them to dv perse. Tho Communists replied with n volley of cobble stones, one of •»nich struck the chief, who was severely injured. Alountcd police repeatedly charged until 3 o’clock in the morning. Tho mob fired several shops and pervented the firemen from extinguishing them.
