GOLD RUSH IN BRAZIL
A gold fever has gripped Brazil, and the excitement, can bo likened only to the days of ’49 in California, and the early days of the Klondike. Repeated reports that new big gold strikes have been mado in the State of Minas, Geraes, have •caused a rush to the mining camps. The picturesque scenes of earlier gold rushes are lacking, for nowadays prospectors travel by train and motorcars and scientific organisation by practical mining scientists replaces the rough and ready methods of the oldtimers. Little towns which were once famous as mining camps, but have foi a 100 years or more been engaged in farming rather than mining, what wasr believed to be “worked out” country, are taking on a new lease of lift
