STEAMERS HELD UP
DISPUTE OVER WAGE “CUT” POSITION STILL UNCHANGED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 14. The Union Company’s steamers Wnimarino and Katoa, are still held up by the refusal of members of the Cooks’ and Stewards’ Union to sign the articles embodying a 10 per cent reduction in wages in accordance with the Arbitration Court’s general order. “The position js unchanged,’’ stated an official of the Union Company yesterday. He also denied the rumour that tho Waimarino’s cargo was being transhipped to the Maheno, which sailed last night for the South. HOME LINERS AFFECTED [ Per Press Asmciation. ] WELLINGTON, June 13. The Wellington watersiders are refusing to work this afternoon on the Home liners Port Huon and Port Fairy owing to a disagreement over wages. Tho vessels are being worked this morning. Tho two ships mentioned are tho only ones requiring to be worked this afternoon.
