RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT YIELDS TO CONGRESS DEMAND Received Juno 14, 11.50 p.m. CAR AC AO (Venezuela), Juno 14. President Juan Bantisa Perez sent his resignation on Saturday to the Venezuelan Congress, which unanimously accepted it, fixing Juno 19 for the election of a new President. Congress had demanded that Perez step down. Cabinet has selected Dr. Itriago Chacin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to act in the interim as President.
