AFFABLE STRANGER
NEW ZEALANDER DUPED. AN INCIDENT IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, June 13. A New Zealander who recently travelled from Wellington to Sydney met an affable stranger on board the ship, who conversed about big profits in his theatrical venture. Upon reaching Sydney tho New Zealander handed over 200 New Zealand notes to Le changed into gold. The stranger disappeared altogether with the money. Detectives arrested a man at Newton and at the same time seized 136 New Zealand notes.
