SCOTS’ SOCIETY DANCE A. BRILLIANT SUCCESS The dance organised by the Bangili kei Scots’ Society ami held in the Huntervillo Town Hall on Friday night was a brilliant success. Excellent music was supplied by the Pipe Band and Potaka’.s orchestra, while Dr. R. IL Pitcaithly, Messrs M. Boss. W. J. Fcrgusson, 1. and C. Mclntyre, D. J. Abel, R. McAlley and A. Abel. During the evening extras were kindly played by Miss Shackleton, and Messrs R. Inder, B. Holford, C. Elvidge, J. Reuben and Piper D. J. Abel. An excellent supper was provided under the supervision of Mesdames R. H. Pitcaithlv and J. M. Abel. The door takings amounted to £37 10s. GENERAL NEWS A special meeting of the Huntervillo Town Board will bo held on Tuesday night to consider the estimates for the year. Tho closing down of No. 5 scheme has caught Huntervillo Town Board in tho middle of the Ongo stream diversion. Fortunately tho new channel has been opened and the bridge constructed, but there is a lot of work to do filling in the old water course. Probably the scheme or a modified scheme will be resumed when Parliament meets.
