THE HATRY FRAUDS
CHARGES AGAINST ITALIAN SENTENCE OF IMPRISONMENT Received June 14, 5.5 p.m. MILAN, June 13. After a week’s trial on charges of fraud, conspiracy and forgery, John Gialdini, in pleading, alleged that the Hatryites had swindled him of £60,000. A deposition by llatry stated that Gialdini was conversant with all the affairs of the group, and added: “We have no animus against him. 1 should hate to think that he is going to share my fate.” Gialdini was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment, but as many months already have been spent in gaol, they will be deducted from the sentence. He was ordered to pay damages of an unspecified amount, to Sir Gilbert Garn sey, representing the llatry Companies’ estate, which was sequestrated at the time of thp arrest. Gialdini is appealing.
