WELL-KNOWN AMERICAN SCARRED BY SERIOUS BURNS Received June 14, 5.15 p.m. NEW YORK, June 13. A message from Weston, Connecticut, states that Ema Legallienne, founder, director and leading woman at New York ’s famous Civic Repertory Theatre, Josephine Hutchinson, a member of her company, and a maid servant, were burned in an explosion of a gas heater at Miss Legallienne’s country home when the latter attempted to heat water to give her dog a bath. Miss Legallienne was removed to hospital, where sh,o will remain for a lengthy period. It is feared that she will be scarred from serious burns on the face, hair, shoulders, arms, chest and thighs.
