VISITING BANK MANAGER
CONDITIONS IN ARGENTINA. HIGH QUALITY OF BEEF. WELLINGTON, June 10. The general manager of the Anglo South American Bank, Mr D. G. Davidson, arrived in Wellington yesterday from England, via Australia, by the Ulimaroa. In the early days Air David son was connected with the New Zea land and Colonial Banks, but has not been in New Zealand for many years. He is on a holiday visit and before returning to England will proceed to Vancouver. South America, and the Argentine ■’> particular, were suffering in common with the rest of the world as a result of the general fall in price levels, said Mr Davidson. The Argentine would always hold its own as far as beef wn concerned. New Zealand might pro duce butter, cheese, lamb and mutto equal, if not superior, to any othe place, but she could never compete against Argentine beef, which was of the very highest quality.
