CHINESE MAIDENHAIR
VERY ATKACTIVE TREE. Salisburia adiantifolio, or Ginkgo ciloba, a monotypic genus, is a fine deciduous tree that attains a height of 60ft. and over. It is a native of Northern China. It has leaves resembling those of a large-leaved maidenhair fern. This tree is worthy of special mention at the present time. They are specially attractive when rearing their symmetrical heads above the surrounding evergreens. There are several forms of this handsome tree, one of weeping habit and an other with variegated foliage. It is propagated by imported seeds and seedling plants. It succeeds best in a deep, free, loamy soil. For its distinct habit and appearance it should have a place in every shrubbery.
