EXECUTION IN SIBERIA
THE FIRST HANGING. BELGRADE, May 22. Wearing a top hat and white gloves, the hangman executed a gendarme murderer, the first hanging in Serbia. The death sentence was hitherto carried cut by shooting. The hangman threw the gloves at the feet of the corpse, and loudly cried: “George Zhiv-titqh, I am not responsible for thy death.”
