BIBLE CLASS RALLY. i This evening a Bible Class rally will 3 be held in Bulls, and upwards of 150 . are expected to attend, including repro--3 sentatives of Bible Classes in Palmer- ) ston North, Fcilding, Awahuri, Marton, . and Turakina, as well as Flock House 3 and Bulls. Kemp. f MOTOR ACCIDENT. i On Tuesday afternoon a collision occurred b-dween cars travelling in opposite directions, on a bridge near the Kangitikei Factory, and while both cars were extensively damaged, the occu pants escaped injury. Tho drivers, strange tn say, had from the TauinaruI nui district, and are acquaintances. FACTORY PAY-OUT. I, The Directors of the. Rangitikei Dairy 3 Co. Ltd., met on Monday and decided - to pay su]iplicrs at the rate of ninepence per pound for April supplies of - butter-fat. * VALEDICTORY. Mr W. S. Penny, who is leaving tho [ district for Auckland for health reasons ; was presented with a case of pipes by > friends at Carnarvon on Tuesday even ■ ing. In making the presentation Mr ; Jas. McKelvie expressed the general regret at Mr Penny’s departure; eulogis ed his many genial and good qualities; . and wished him complete restoration to health. Mr Penny briefly responded, saying that he felt tho break of leaving Sanson, where he had been born and brought up, and the district where he knew so many. He thanked Mr McKelvie for his kind remarks, and add cd that ho was not going so very far away, and that he hoped to meet, his friends here occasionally. (Applause). DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. There are a number of first-class riflemen in this district, and an effort is being made to re-form tho Bulls Defence Rifle Club, which went out of existence some years ago. The Bulls range is one of the best in the Dominion, centrally situated and easy of access, cars being capable of reaching any part of the range, and judging by the support offered a strong club should be formed here. Those interested will meet in Bulls this evening. BULLS M.R. CLUB. Bulls Miniature Rifle Club has a membership of 40, ami the numbers are growing daily. The new range is very up to date, the lighting being first class, and accommodation being provid ed for five men shooting simultaneously. A new club rifle is being added, and judging by the improvement shown on the new range, the season’s prospects are very promising. FOOTBALL. On Saturday Bulls and Huntervilie seniors meet on Bulls Domain, and a good game is expected. The Bulls F.C. is entering a fourth grade team for the competition commencing at the end of May, and players will practice on the Domain on Saturday afternoon. WOMEN’S DIVISION. A meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in Bulls on Monday afternoon. Present: Mesdames Goodall (in the chair), McKenzie, Thorby, Gray, Do Burgh, Walker, Campion. Anderson and Escott. Mrs Goodall reported on the Bush Nurse and Housekeeper meeting which Mrs Stevenson and she attended on April 22; also on the annual Provincial Executive meeting held in Marton on May 5. Mesdames Stevenson and Goodall were appointed to act as trustees for the branch, and money at present in the Savings Bank will be drawn out, and re-deposited in the names of the Trustees. Mesdames Walker and De Burgh were pppointed advisory members, and also delegates to the Provincial Executive. The meeting closed with an expression of sympathy to the secretary in her recent illness, and wishes for a speedy recovery to health. PATRIOTIC SOCIETY. The annual meeting of the Bulls, Sanson, Carnarvon, Ohakea and Lower Rangitikei War Relief committee was held in Bulls on Monday. Present: Messrs J. E. Walker (chairman), F. J. Man sell, F. O. Bailey. J. Tricker, J. McKelvie, W. E. Pearce, R. Mackay, H. MeManaway, G. H. Archer and H. A. Goodall. The following officials were appointed: President, Mr J. McKelzip; vicepresident, Mr J. E. Walker; treasurer. Mr G. H. Archer; committee, Messrs L. M. Richards, R. Mackay and J. Tricker. The balance sheet (which was adopted) showed that £2BB 3s had been granted to returned soldiers and their dependants during the year. Several necessitous cases wore considered, and the sum of £34 6s 8d granted to applicants. GENERAL. The monthly meeting of Bulls Town Board will be held this evening. Owing to counter attractions the Bulls school euchre party was not as well attended as usual on Monday evening. Prize-winners wore: Lady’s. Mrs A W. Blanchard; gent’s. Mr Stan Rich.
