Feeling in connection with the Presidential election campaign is the most bitter in modern times. The majority of the Left and a few Moderates predict mBriand’s election. On the contrary tit powerful Le Journal, describing M. Briand as a danger to France, has raked up his political youth, when he showed extremist views. M. Doumer President of the Senate, again declined to stand down. The peculiar circumstances of the election methods incline some critics to the opinion that M. Hennessy may be elected owing to tho split in tho votes between M. Briand and M. Donnie r.
