NEW ZEALANDERS’ TOUR LEICESTERSHIRE GAME NARROW MARGIN OF RUNS [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] LONDON, May 12. The cricket- match between New Zealand and Leicester was concluded today in fine weather and resulted in a draw. There was a small attendance to witness Leicester—the first innings realised 277—f0110w on. Leicester declared at the tea adjournment when the score was 273 for the loss of six wickets, and the action of Dawson, the county captain, provided a keen finish to the game. The New Zealand batsmen were left with an hour in which to score 116 fo r an outright victory. The wicket was showing signs of wear and six of the batsmen lost their wickets in attempting to force the pace and stumps were drawn when tho score stood at 90 for the loss of seven wic kets. Leicester was batting better thaj yesterday and Merritt was the only New Zealand bowler to bo reallj troublesome. Coleman gave an excellent display of hard hitting. The New Zealand fieldsmen did not drop any catches, but the ground fielding was erratic. Talbot and James opened Nevi Zexland’s second innings, but Janies went cheaply. Cromb hit hard during his short stav, lalbot, Lowry, Page and Kerr were dismissed in quick succession. Merritt and Dempster supplied a use ful partnership, but after Merritt’s dis missal, New Zealand’s hope of victory vanished.
