WEATHERFORECA ST General situation. —The anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, but is now beginning to move eastwards. Au intense depression is advancing towards Tasmania. Forecast. —Winds: Variable at first in the North Island, later northerly winds prevailing generally and freshening south of Cape figment and Castlcpoint. Seas (N.Z. waters): Smooth to moderate, but later rising in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with moderate but rising seas. Weather: Still mainly fair to fine and mild, but showers gradually developing- in western districts from Taranaki southwards.
