'l’he sudden recommissioning of the Union Company’s colliers Kaitokc and Kaikorai, which have been idle at Wellington for the past, year, caused considerable interest at the waterfront here. The vessels are now being got ready for sea and sail for Newcastle next week to load coal on account of the New Zealand Government. In addition te these vessels the collier Kurow, which bus been laid up at Auckland for many months, sailed for Newcastle on Monday to load coni. No reason is given for tho quick decision to despatch these colliers. The vessels mentioned bnvo a carrying capacity of 12,900 tons.
