BOROUGH COUNCIL At the meeting of the Borough Coun- i cil on Monday evening the following sub-committees were appointed.—Finance: Crs. Gregory, Barton* Sicely, and Williams. GREATFORD SCHOOL COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Greatford School Committee was held in the school on Wednesday evening last. Present. Messrs Geo. Lewis (chairman), A. Anderson (secretary), J. Winchcombe, F. Bishop and H. Mitchell. Correspondence was received from the Education Board regarding the alteration in the dates of paying of the capitation grants. As the committee had sufficient funds in hand to meet expenses, no action was taken. Accounts totalling £6 were passed for payment. The chairman reported having represented the committee at the dental clinic meeting at Marton on Monday last. The resignation of R. Short fhead teacher) was received with regret, Mr Short having accepted a position at the Central School at New Plymouth. The agricultural inspector reported that the school grounds were a credit to the teachers and committee.
