SYDNEY HARBOUR
OUTWARD GOODS RATES. ALL SHIPPING AFFECTED SYDNEY, May 12. All goods shipped at Sydney in any vessel will lie subject from to-morrow to an outward wharfage or harbour rate of Is 6d per toil, except in certain specified cases, where special rates will be charged. It is expected that the new charges will result in a substantial increase in revenue to the Sydney Harbour Tmst. The chairman of the Harbour Trust Commissioners said that certain goods, including wool, wheat, and coal had been subject to such charge for a year, i Ihe shippers of oth« r goods had been enjoying iacilities offered by the port without any impost of this nature and ( the commissioners considered it reasonable that they should be called upon tn pay for service? rendered.
