WELCOME TO JOSEPH HISLOP
The Wanganui Society of Musicians ( gave a most happy welcome to Mr Joseph Hislop on Monday at the Elriek t I’ea Rooms. Mr Will Hutchens, president of the society, made a brief speech ( of welcome and Mr Hislop thanked the ( members for the welcome to Wanganui. ] A. dainty afternoon tea was served before Mr Hislop and his pianist, Mr Goodman, left for another engagement, 'j Among those present were Mr Will | Hutchens (president), Mr Naumann (secretary), Mr G. Mcßeth (treasurer), ■ Madame Spillane, Madame Ivo Symes, Miss 1. Burnet, Miss Blennerhassett. Other members present were: Mrs H. ( I). Robertson. Mrs Abernethy, Aliss • Hutchens, Miss Whitlock, Mrs (Jun- , ninghani, Mrs :Doull. Mrs S. Rankin. Miss Naumann. Miss Gaunt, Miss , Chamberlain, Miss Hcwetson, Miss j Landells. Miss G. Smith, Mr Lance • Craig. Several members of the Musical . Association are away from Wanganui , j just now for the term holidays. (
