I'he Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways, will arrive in Patea to-night. Ho will hear several deputations. The Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways, will arrive in Wanganui this afternoon and will atay here for the week-end. Guests registered at Foster’s Hotel last night were: Messrs J. Smith, A. Brookes, F. A. 1.. Hunt, T. H. Davies (Wellington), K. Macßeaa Stewart G. Sampson (M.isterton), L. A. M irquet,, E. C. Hazelton (Auckland), li. L. Begg (Wanganui). Cable news has been received in Wanganui that Mr Rex Dillon has passed his second engineer's examination in London. Mr Dillon is an old boy of the Wanganui Technical College. He served his apprenticeship at the Imlay Freezing Works. Mr F. H. Purcell, of the Post and Telegraph Department. Wanganui, has been transferred to the Waipukurau office. Mr Purcell left Wanganui on Monday. On Saturday morning he was farewolled by his comrades of the postmen’s branch, and made a small presentation.
