GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL RESUMES (Per P;cm Association.) NAPIER, March flA deputation from the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board left to-day for Wellington to place before the Premier a request for £3OOO to be placed to the Board’s credit to pay wages already due in connection with the work in re storing the river banks. The Napier Girls’ High School re sumed today. In the early days aftei the ’quake it was thought by the authorities that it would be impossible to resume secondary education in Napier for some time. However, so many parents have expressed a desire to have their children with them, that it has been decided at short notice to reopen and give an opportunity to get the children back t normal as soon as their homes arc ready. In spite of the old school being ruined and the new brick building damaged, there still remain ten or twelve detached rooms which withstood the shock- These are being used.
