DAIRYMENS REQUEST
SOUNDER MARKET SOUGHT BRITISH PREFERENCE WANTED. [Per Press Association.! - WELLINGTON, Dec. 4. The New Zealand Dairy Council today resolved to urge the Government to endeavour to arrange with the British Government to tax foreign food import, New Zealand agreeing in return, to make a reduction in the duty on British goods. Mr W. Goodfellow, of Amalgamated Dairies Ltd., in a full analysis of the position, said that dairymen were facing a crisis because of the low prices of primary produce, and the remedy lay in lower costs, more efficient marketing and Empire preference.
The. Council decided to institute action calling on London importers to devise methods to prevent unnecessary marketing weaknesses.
