FASCISTS MAKE ARRESTS
INTELLECTUALS ACCUSED SPECIAL TRIAL ORDERED ROME, Dec. 3. Alleging the existence of a secret or ganisation preparing crimes against the Government the police arrested 25 intellectuals, including the elderly American-born Signora de Bosia, widow of the Italian poet and translator. A Shelly printing press was found under Signora Bosia’s bed and she was accused of disseminating leaflets exposing wrongs perpetrated under Fascist. Others arrested are Renzo Rendi (correspondent of the New York Evening Post) and Mario Vcncgucrra (translator of English books). The arrests have astonished the Anglo-American colony as several ot them had Anglo-American literary con ncctions. The accused were handed over for trial by a special tribunalCommunist conspiracies were discovered in the Emila and R<magnano districts and numerous arrests wore made.
