BURN CUP MATCH ... ‘ Another game for the Hum Cup was played on the St. John’s green yesterday. the challengers being Wanganui j East. Naturally the recent rain dulled I the green a little, but it played true 1 and some excellent play resulted. ■ With six heads gone Wanganui East j let 8 to 5, St. John’s drawing up and I leading I<J to 8 on the tenth head. The | challengers then scored four singles but j the holders retaliated with three sinI gles and two three’s, leading 19 to 12 lun the 19th head. Wanganui East scored 2 and 1 on the last two heads, the result thus being:— Glover, Goodey, Harris, Benefield (St. John’s) 19 v. Gilbertson, Caldwell, Hutchens, Carveil (Wanganui East) 15. Bannerette Match. A game for the Bannerette will be played on St. John’s green this evening at 5 o’clock, the challengers being Wanganui East.
