GOOD TROUT FISHING
CONDITIONS AT TAUPO,
ITer Pre.s Association.) TOKAANU, Dee. 1. Local trout fishing still continues to fulfil 1.11 expectations. The recent rains have been very beneficial, particularly in the Tongariro river. Mont of the favourite pools appear to be well stocked. There is a marked abundance of inanga and other foods in most of the rivers and streams.
Mr Barlow has secured 151 fish to date, all on the fly, from the Tongariro river, 10 to a dozen fish being secured daily by Mr Barlow. Other anglers also arc meeting with the same success. The lake sport, particularly at The Delta, together with the trolling, has been very successful, particularly tho sport obtained by numerous week-end visitors. The condition and size of the fish far excel anything for some years.
The authorities arc to be commended for the attention and tho facilities given to anglers, and the fishing conditions generally. The news of tho good fishing has already reached overseas, resulting in many reservations being made for tho ensuing season. The weather conditions are ideal.
