Land of “ Noes ”
LIFE ON NORFOLK ISLAND NO TAXES AND NO DIVORCES [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.] Received Nov. 19, 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 19. Colonel A. J. Bennett, administrator of Norfolk Island, arrived to-day with his annual report, which he will submit to the Ministers at Canberra. Interviewed he bluntly described himself as an administrator of a land of “Noes.” There wert no taxes, no divorces, no politics, no lunatics and no depression worth speaking about. “But,” he added, “we have some bananas.’’
