CHILD ASSAULTED
SEVERE INJURIES SUSTAINED. YOVNG MAN BEFORE COURT. [Ter Preus Association.] DUNEDIN, Nov. 19. A young man, Stanley Redvcrs Buller, appeared, at tho Police, Court thi< morning charged with causing actual bodily harm to Maureen Joan Hall, aged Accused rented a room in the child’s parents’ house, and on the evening of October 16. when the child was asleep, ho. entered her room and struck her on the head with a cider bottle, causing a compound fracture of the skull, from which she only recovered after two operations. According Io tho evidence, accused, who was on good terms with the father, mother and child, then wandered over tho hills and telephoned the police what he had done. He went to the Central Station and made a statement. Ho. pleaded guilty and was committed for’sentence, the Court directing that he be kept under medical observa
